The WIC Boys and Girls Club initiative has its roots in our search for a solution to the moral decay, gross loss of discipline, wanton degeneration of respect for the common good, unprecedented levels of drop out from High Schools, Colleges and Universities, a prevailing ‘get rich quick’ mentality, a growing cult culture in High Schools and Universities resulting in frequent violent crimes in and out of college campuses, and a lot more undesirable behavior among today’s Igbo youths. The programs configured to reverse this decay and sore behavior patterns will be administered and coordinated by the Women and Family Affairs Committee (WFAC) of World Igbo Congress. Sequel to this, the WIC Boys and Girls Club is to be organized in CHAPTER formats ultimately in the eastern Nigerian states with a preponderance of Igbo populations (Namely Abia, Anambra, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers states) and the Diaspora, African American and African Descent on issues of global and common concerns under the direct supervision of the zonal and international coordinators respectively.
