World Igbo Congress, Inc. (WIC) is a nonprofit corporation registered with the secretary of state of the State of Texas in accordance with the Texas Business Organizations Code (“BOC”) in 1994. The organization also has a 501(c) 3 status. In 1997, WIC incorporated the World Igbo Congress Foundation (WICF) with similar status but with the added function of developing and implementing approved projects.
COVERAGE
The operations of World Igbo Congress, Inc. cover the interests of Igbo people in the Diaspora as well as in their homeland, especially in Abia, Anambra, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers States southeastern and south-south administrative zones of Nigeria. In the south-south zone, Igbos live with numerous other ethnic groups including, Ibibios, Kalabaris, Ijaws, Itsekiris, Urhobos who will benefit from the activities of the organization as WIC is not discriminatory in dealing with the Igbo and their neighbors. These operations cover all aspects of youth, community and infrastructural development. WIC connects Ndi Igbo to the world through partnerships at all levels.
