Leadership Summit
Category:Leadership and CohesionWorld Igbo Congress (WIC) proudly announces an Igbo Leadership Summit in Nigeria.
Having noted that a majority of the special guests from homeland at the 2016 New York Convention made a very strong request that WIC brings one of her annual gatherings to homeland, the Congress resolved to convene a mega Igbo Leadership Summit in Enugu this upcoming Spring. The 2016 New York Convention would not be the first time Igbo stakeholders at homeland would make similar requests that WIC Convention be brought home. The heightened discrimination and wanton marginalization of the Igbo in the current political dispensation in Nigeria avails easy consensus by Congress to convene at Homeland to chart the course of bold remedies for the thorny issues of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Igbo unity, Restructuring Nigeria, anti-Igbo agenda of successive governments of Nigeria, among other things.
This summit at Enugu is not a replacement for WIC annual Convention. It rather offers an opportunity to announce and promote the WIC constitutionally mandated annual convention, holding in Chicago IL, 2017 Labor Day weekend.
We hereby express our gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, (Gburugburu, Ndi Igbo) for graciously accepting to host the Summit, and willingly volunteering to assist in facilitating the event. This Summit is scheduled for April 19, 2017, in Enugu, the historical and political capital of Igbo nation.
Dialogues to build collaborative relationship with Ndi Igbo Lagos and Aka Ikenga for and all-inclusive event that should lead to a record successful summit are underway.
The WIC facilitated Regional Medical Center of Excellence (RMCE) philosophy, vision, rationale, and progress report will be unveiled before the anticipated and unprecedented Igbo assembly.
We guarantee that this will not be a talk show or a jamboree. WIC has drawn the summit agenda, and attendees will listen to actionable, strategic pathways for restoration of Igbo dignity, from the Igbo bests in academia, business community, banking, politics, trade unions, traditional rulers, and students.
A detailed program announcement follows in the next few weeks. Make your travel plans now. This is a home coming moment you do not want to miss.
As an update, we are pleased to announce the involvement of Ohanaeze in this project. WIC is extremely happy about this development. We therefore ask you to check this page often for a final update shortly
